About the Artist
Hi! I am Margie Ehlers. I have been creating handmade lampworking beads for 5 years. All my beads are kiln annealed to ensure hardness and extra strength. My true love is heart beads and no two handmade beads are ever the same.

I have always had a desire to express my creative side. Lampworking is just one avenue to do that. My other ventures include glass fusing and mosaic. I have a degree in nursing and work part time as a surgical nurse in Omaha, NE.

I contribute my continued love of lampworking and beading making to the Midwest Lampworkers Guild. Currently I am co-chair of the Library Committee.

My husband Jim is my biggest fan and shows enormous support. Jim has many artistic talents of his own. They include glass fusing, enameling, woodworking, and copper smithing.

Our favorite two helpers are Daisy and Lily, the beloved and very spoiled Ehlers’ cats. Whoever said that cats rule the house and the humans are just the guests is so right
